Case study: Wpromote and Uptime delivers peace of mind over the holidays
Not Your Traditional Digital Marketing Agency
Wpromote is a world-class independent marketing agency that drives transformational growth for top brands like Whirlpool, Zenni, and TransUnion. When it comes to peak periods in the fast-changing world of ecommerce, Wpromote’s experts know that nothing is as important as strong QA. That’s why we were ecstatic to add Wpromote to the Uptime partner program 2022 holiday season to pilot Uptime on select clients’ Shopify stores.

Scaling QA in preparation for a strong holiday season
One of the primary objectives of the partnership was to leverage the Uptime platform to help Wpromote scale a more effective QA solution across all of their clients.
Every Wpromote client has their own dedicated Technical Account Managers, tasked with ensuring clients' stores are functioning as expected and handling any issues that may arise quickly and painlessly. Uptime fit perfectly into this structure; the agency could quickly equip the Technical Account Management team with an ‘always-on’ monitoring tool to detect Shopify outages, online store issues, and third party app outages across clients’ stores.

Heading into the 2022 holiday season, Wpromote and Uptime engaged with 3 clients to get the app up and running on their online stores ahead of the rush. Ferry Morse, Grilla Grills, and HomeWater received the benefit of Uptime’s additional monitoring and peace of mind during the busiest ecommerce period of the year.

As a part of the partnership, the merchants were provided with whiteglove onboarding by the Uptime team, including a thorough QA analysis of the merchant's online store and an initial set of automated QA test flows. That meant the merchants went into the season with full automated QA coverage of some of the most critical customer journeys in their digital stores.
45 hours saved & 25 reported outages
With Uptime’s automated QA test flows running, the merchants could now spend less time manually testing their store and more time focusing on growing their business with Wpromote’s expert support, during the most critical selling season.
Partnering with Uptime means our clients no longer have to worry about missing an outage and losing out on business because something isn’t working on the backend of their online stores. Automating test flows means we can use our time more strategically, ensuring we can deliver the best possible site experience and drive users to convert instead of wasting time on inefficient manual testing.
– Jeff Herrera, VP of Marketing and Partnerships @ Wpromote
Since installing the app, Uptime has run these merchants' automated test flows over 2,300 times, saving them a combined 45 hours of manual testing of their online stores:
Ferry Morse: 1,393 total flow runs, 37 manual testing hours saved
Home Water: 616 total flow runs, 6 manual testing hours saved
Grilla Grills: 346 total flow runs, 3 manual testing hours saved
Uptime has also alerted these merchants to over 25 Shopify platform outages, including four related to checkout. In fact, Uptime detected a checkout outage hours before Shopify acknowledged the outage occurred, helping to save Uptime customers thousands.
