Any pet owner knows how annoying and difficult it is to remove pet hair and lint from your clothing, furniture, and pretty much everything else.
Mehul, the founder of Uproot Clean, noticed that standard lint rollers were not effective and incredibly wasteful. He set out to solve this problem he knew almost every pet owner feels on a daily basis.

The problem
As a solo founder with a Shopify Plus store growing faster than 100% year over year, Mehul was often focused on the day-to-day operations of the business.
As online stores scale, the complexity of those stores scale as well. The introduction of new functionality, whether custom coded or via a third party app, can make your online store fragile and at risk of experiencing bugs or other issues. It also means the impact of downtime on the Shopify platform itself is much greater.
In Mehul’s case, he added a simple checkout script via a third party app in order to modify his checkout experience. However, three months later that third party app would begin to have API issues, causing a substantial increase in load time for Uproot’s checkout page by as much as 7 to 8 seconds.
This increase in page load speed caused Uproot’s conversion rate to drop by a third, leading to a massive loss in sales. Since Mehul didn’t have any online store monitoring or QA testing set up, he was unaware of this issue until hours later when he was notified through support requests.
Monitoring with Uptime
With Uptime’s automated test flow monitoring, Mehul is now able to have peace of mind knowing that someone is always monitoring the core functionality of his online store.

To cover any future checkout issues, the Uptime team recorded automated test flows that test various critical actions on checkout, including proceeding through the various checkout steps, adding discounts and upsells, as well as testing upsell functionality on the Order Status/Thank You page.
