Why is third party app monitoring important?

Shopify apps power many critical functions on Shopify online stores, and it's often these external dependencies that can cause the most downtime on a store.

For example, just last week Recharge Checkout had a partial outage. Merchants tracking Recharge via Uptime were alerted immediately and were able to take action by diverting traffic, scaling down paid ad spend, or notifying customers.

Set up third party app monitoring today

To monitor third party app statuses simply head over to the Third Party Apps tab in your Uptime app. From there, you will see a selection of apps from the Shopify App Store. To start monitoring a third party app, simply click on the app you want to monitor and select the specific services you care most about.

Now that you’re subscribed to these app services you’ll get an email or Slack alert the moment this service reports any issues or downtime.
